From Humble Beginnings Come Great Things

My name's Rachel Wood and I just graduated from Northwest Missouri State University!

I grew up in a small Missouri town and I went to college in the Fall of 2008 thinking I wanted to pursue a career in agriculture business. After a few semesters, I realized that particular major wasn't for me.
When I began browsing a list of majors, I came across applied advertising. When the description read, "mix of journalism, broadcasting and advertising," I thought to myself, "Wow - that sounds like fun." Since then, I believe wholeheartedly that changing my major was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

After my first Introduction to Advertising class, I became obsessed with anything and everything advertising related (and it hasn't stopped). It opened my eyes to a world that I had been ignoring for what  felt like lifetime. I later added a minor in Commercial Agriculture and I enjoy having such a unique combination for a degree.

Now that I'm done with school, my job is now finding a full-time job in media.
